A: It is to believe that Allah is One with no partner; He has no equal, no peer and no rival.  

 

Q:How to believe in the Knowledge of Allah The Almighty? 

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty is characterized by Knowledge; He is the All-Knower of everything. He knows of the inner and outer reality of all things. He knows of every single grain of sand, drop of water, and leaves of trees. He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden. Nothing escapes His knowledge; His knowledge is not acquired for He knows everything prior it comes to existent. 

 

Q:How to believe in the Power of Allah The Almighty?

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty is the Ever-Able and has power over everything.

 

Q:How to believe in the Will of Allah The Almighty?

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty possess the Will to do everything and nothing can escape His Will. Whatever He The Almighty wills must "Be"; whatever He The Almighty does not will, it will never "Be".

 

Q:How to believe in the Hearing of Allah The Almighty?

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty is characterized by the attribute of Hearing. He The Almighty hears everything whether they are secret or public. However, His Hearing is incomparable to ours. We have ears to hear, and He not. 

 

Q:How to believe in the Seeing of Allah The Almighty?

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty is characterized by the attribute of Seeing and that He is the All-Seer. He sees even the movement of the black ant in the dusk nights and even smaller than that. Nothing outside or inside the earth or high above the heaven and beneath can escape His Seeing. However, His Seeing does not resemble ours in any way, for our seeing depends on eyes and He not. 

 

Q:How to believe in the Speech of Allah The Almighty? 

A: It is to believe that Allah The Almighty is characterized by the attribute of Speech and that His Speech does not resemble ours in any way. Our speech is produced via the mouth, tongue and lips while the Speech of Allah is not.

 

 

Q: What are the impossible attributes that can never be ascribed to Allah The Almighty? 

A: It is impossible to ascribe the following attributes to Allah:

  • non-Existence (‘Adam),
  • Emergence from non-existence (Huduth),
  • Mortality (Fanaa’),
  • Similarity to creation,
  • Dependence,
  • Having partners,
  • Inability, 
  • Coercion,
  • Ignorance and the like.

It is impossible to ascribe these attributes to Allah The Almighty because they denote imperfection and He The Exalted cannot be described in any way except by the attributes of perfection.

 

Q: what are the things that Allah The Almighty determines?

A: Allah The Almighty has the power whether or not to do anything, such as making someone rich or poor, healthy or ill and the like.

 

Q: What does Istiwaa’ mean in the saying of Allah The Almighty: "The Most Gracious (Allah) (Istawa) is firmly established on the Throne [Ta-Ha 20: 5]?

 

A: It means that Allah The Almighty established Himself over the Throne in a manner that suits His Majesty. Al-Istiwaa’ is not known, but (how) of it is incomprehensible. His Istiwaa' over the Throne does not resemble that of humans on the ship, the back of the animal or the bed. So, whoever imagines something of that kind is surely mistaken for he likened the Creator His creation. It was proved by the logical and textual evidences that there is nothing whatever like unto Him. Hence, Allah is incomparable to anything of His creation.
